The completion of the Santa Ana River Trail (SART) has been a long time in coming. Because there are so many Cities and red tape and financial issues that come from all directions, progress to make the final connections has been at a snails pace. I even heard that a divorce that involved one of the developers tied up funds and halted progress on the trail East of Hamner.
But on the positive side there has been a nice section added. On the Corner of Citrus and Hamner Ave the new Eastvale Community park will open in March 2014. The grass is in and it appears to be getting strong and well established.
The new SART section runs along the East and South borders of this park.
The Trail Head along Hamner is pictured below.
If while standing at the trail head you look immediately to the left you will see the tunnel that will take the trail under Hamner Ave when finished.
Now as you head down the trail you quickly come to the end of this new section as seen below. (looking East)
(looking West)
This marks the completion of Phase 1.
Phase 2 will include this already existing driving range.
This area has a nice wide open space feel and will look great when done.
As you enter the driving range you pass by these unique creatures.
You can see the new park way in the distance when enlarged.
Lastly this is the section at Riverwalk Park that the new SART will connect to.

I wish more cities were like Eastvale which gives their residents and visitors so many choices for parks and recreation. Hopefully those who frequent these will appreciate them and take care of them by keeping them clean and safe.
