I was getting my van fixed today in Riverside California and I asked my mechanic if he was familiar with Challen Park which was about 2 miles from his shop. He said "You mean that hill of dirt on California Ave? ...I said...yes!

I told him I had checked it out and it actually was was kinda cool! He said.." no I have never stopped there before."
It does have a certain Old West feel to it.
It offer some technical biking terrain...
...and just a plain good ol' workout!

This "Hill of Dirt" is NOT really a destination place...BUT...IF you are in the area it provides a nice little hike or bike ride.
It really is much more than a "Hill of Dirt". It actually has a nice open feel to it! I was pleasantly surprised at what it had to offer.
It is bigger than it looks, especially when you travel around the entire perimeter.
...and just a plain good ol' workout!
But beware there could be danger!
Challen was worthy of the timed spent there. Would I go back? Yes if I was in the area. I saw a motorcycle speed up and over the crest. Pretty cool sight! Pretty cool little hill of dirt!
